Fancy something different this Shrove Tuesday?These Leeds eateries are ditching the usual lemon and sugar recipe for something much more exciting.

Sheaf St Cafeteria

Get the morning off to a good start with Sheaf Street Cafeteria’s pancake and coffee pairing menu.

The little gem tucked away behind The Tetley has put together a special menu with toppings including chocolate chip with honeycomb butter and wild mushrooms with blue cheese cream and spinach – all paired with a carefully selected coffee.

A super-sized pancake contest is being held at Angelica on Shrove Tuesday.

Diners will have 15 minutes to eat 15 pancakes topped with whipped cream and syrup.

If successful, the pancakes will be free of charge and Angelica will make a £10 donation to the YEP-backed Leeds Flood Appeal.

There will also be a £100 cash prize for the person who completes the challenge in the fastest time.

The pulled pork pancake returns once more, served with coleslaw and topped with BBQ sauce and cheese.

Try it out at the Leeds city centre or Headingley sites.
