The much-loved Whitelock’s, just off Briggate, celebrated its 300th birthday last year but is still moving with the times and bringing something new to the city.

The pub has transformed its function room into a separate venue called The Turk’s Head – named after the nearby street. Serving 12 craft beers and an array of cocktails, it is hoped the bar will cater for a new audience.

He said: “Whitelock’s is staying exactly as it is.

“We’re not trying to change a winning formula – we are passionate about Leeds and the pub. This is just a new chapter for a previously unused part of the building.

“Leeds is really thriving and there has been a number of openings recently that have really upped the ante for what people want on a good night out, and this sits as very much part of that offering.”

The bar opens from 12pm on Saturday, January 30. Follow @TurksHead on Twitter or visit turksheadleeds.co.uk for more.
