The lucky patron who places the one-millionth cocktail order will get the chance to win a special treat to share with friends.

Taking inspiration from the film Cocktail, the millionth drink will be accompanied by a bottle of Louis XIII cognac worth a cool £2,000.

Simon Potts, managing director at The Alchemist, said: “Selling one million cocktails is no mean feat, and we felt that it was something that needed celebrating.

“We know that the cocktail tally is currently in the high 900,000s, so we predict that the millionth one will be sold around mid-month – we cant wait to surprise the lucky customer with the extra-special cognac gift, to share with their friends.

“They’re destined to be the most popular person in the bar, that’s for sure!”
