GUITAR CAFE

Northern Guitars on Call Lane is set to expand its shop with a bar, café and stage for small gigs.

Work is due to start soon so watch this space.

The bar on Lower Briggate changes concepts every few months or so, and it’s due a change soon.

TURK’S HEAD

The city centre’s oldest pub has turned its function room into a craft beer and cocktail bar.

The new venue at Whitelock’s opens on January 30.

KARAOKE BAR

Chicken restaurant Bird and Beast is opening a private karaoke bar.

It will take over the Bird and Beats bar in the middle of February.

Well known for its tapas, it also has a great drinks menu with wine, cocktails, cider, sangria and gin.
