Christmas comes early as TV stars tread the boards in £1m pop-up panto in Leeds

The Tetley will host a ‘pop-up panto’ – with a specially-created 1,400-seat theatre and a luxury champagne bar.

Geordie Shore star Scotty Timlin, who has appeared on Ex on the Beach and won Celebrity Big Brother, will play the prince.

But the search is on for someone in West Yorkshire to play Snow White.

Open auditions for Snow White will be held across the county in the summer in a bid to find new talent for the lead role.

Scotty said: “Some might say that I am already the crowned ‘Prince of Newcastle’, but I’m proper looking forward to putting on my crown in Leeds.”

Brookside star Louis Emerick, will play the royal tax collector. He said: “The people of Leeds and West Yorkshire can look forward to the biggest, brightest pantomime for some time.

“I’m proud to be part of it. I can’t wait!”

Tupele Dorgu, who is best known as Kelly Crabtree in Coronation Street, will play the Wicked Queen.

She said: “Leeds is such a great city and always has brilliant audiences.”

Children’s television stars Zippy and George from Rainbow will also make an appearance.

There will also be entertainment from magicians, jugglers, stilt walkers and face painters as well as candy floss, popcorn and ice-cream on sale.

Tickets for the event start from £11.50.

The pop-up panto runs from December 8, 2016 until January 1, 2017.
