Next month sees the return of the annual Bramham Park Fun Run where runners will put their best foot forward to support the Cancer Research UK Leeds Centre.

This year is the 19th year of the popular run which has raised over £200,000 for Cancer Research UK.

It takes place on Sunday October 1 when runners of all abilities can tackle the 5km or 10km runs in the grounds of one of Yorkshire’s most beautiful estates.

Organisers say this year’s event will be bigger and better than before, with lots of activities for families to enjoy including face painting, bouncy castle, sports massage for runners and refreshments.

Liz Way, co-ordinator of the CRUK Leeds action team, said: “We are so excited to be the new organisers of this fantastic event and we can’t wait to welcome all the participants to the beautiful Bramham Estate on October 1.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to all the organisations who have helped us in our planning so far, we couldn’t do it without the generous support of so many people.

“With your help we will be able to raise as much money as possible for vital cancer research that is being done right here in Leeds.”

Money raised will help fund life-saving research, such as the work of Professor Maggie Knowles, who is collecting blood tissue and urine samples from bladder cancer patients to try and identify molecular ‘flags’ to improve diagnosis and monitor treatment.”

The event is sponsored by estate agent Beadnall Copley.

Entry is £12 for adults, £8 for under 16s and £25 for families. Group discounts are also available.
