Central Leeds: Harvey Nicks supports youth

Luxury Leeds department store Harvey Nichols is backing a glamorous fundraising event in aid of the Prince's Trust youth charity.

The Briggate retail emporium is supporting Lunch With an Old Bag, which brings some of Yorkshire’s most stlyish and influential women together for a designer handbag auction.

The concept has already been a huge success in Edinburgh, and money raised at the exclusive sale held in Harrogate’s Sun Pavilion on May 13 will go towards helping young people in Yorkshire who face problems such as unemployment and a lack of education.

Harvey Nichols in Leeds hosted the launch of the event, which was also attended by young ambassadors who have been supported by the Prince’s Trust to find jobs and complete courses. Lucinda Peters, Prince’s Trust event committee member said: “Last year, The Prince’s Trust helped over 5,000 young people across Yorkshire. In its milestone 40th year, the Trust is committed to helping more than ever before. Money raised from Lunch with an Old Bag will make a huge difference.”
