Cause of blaze at allotments in Normanton under investigation
THREE sheds were destroyed during a blaze at allotments in Normanton near Wakefield this morning.
Fire crews from Castleford and Normanton were called to the fire at the allotments on Mill Lane off Castleford Road just after 5am.
Al Senior, Watch Commander at Normanton Fire Station, said: “Three sheds were well-alight. We managed to stop the fire spreading to other greenhouses and sheds on the allotments.”
Watch commander Senior said the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
