Bettys waitress returns after 55 years

The 91-year old worked at the tea room for about 20 years, in both the Leeds and Harrogate branches.

She visited the Harlow Carr branch in Harrogate with friends from The Hawthornes Care Home in Birkenshaw, where she has been a resident for the past year.

During her visit Phyllis, who was brought up in Leeds, said how lovely she found the Harlow Carr branch saying: “It’s so beautiful here, what a treat, I love everything about it.” She shared fond memories about her time at the company with friends and current staff members.
