A man has been flown to hospital by air ambulance after being hit by a car.

The collision occurred at around 11.55am this morning on Horbury Road, close to Lupset, Wakefield.

A police spokeswoman said a pedestrian and a silver Ford were involved.

The man’s injuries are not known.

Emergency services are still at the scene and the road is closed at the junction with Cumbrian Way.
