Adrian Purtell: Bradford Bulls star in swim for heart charity

A rugby league player is to swim the English Channel for a Leeds charity '“ in his local pool.

Bradford Bulls skipper Adrian Purtell suffered a heart attack during a match against Leeds in 2012 and is now an ambassador for Heart Research UK. The 31-year-old will do the charity’s 22-mile Swim the Channel Challenge at Virgin Active on Kirkstall Road, Leeds, next week. At a practice session, he was joined by four-year-old Jaxon Moore-Green from Bradford, who has heart problems due to a rare condition.
