A Christmas film marathon is being held in Leeds today and these festive films will be shown

The Grinch, Home Alone and The Muppet Christmas Carol will all be playing back to back.

The festive film favourites will be playing at Belgrave Music Hall and Canteen TODAY, Sunday, December 16.

The Jim Carey film, The Grinch, is the first screening on the bill. It will start at 12pm.

Based on the Dr Seuss book, the film sees the Christmas hating Grinch try to sabotage the holiday for the residents of Whoville, only to find his festive spirit once again.

At 4pm, family favourite, The Muppet's Christmas Carol will begin.

This sees The Muppets perform the Charles Dickens Christmas tale, as Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy play the poor Mr and Mrs Cratchit.

Home Alone will be the final film of the day. It will start at 7pm.

The classic Christmas film follows the adventures of Kevin McCallister after he is mistakenly left at home alone and has to contend with two sneaky burglars.

Entry to the festive film marathon is free and guests will receive free popcorn.

This is the first of two weekends that the bar will be playing free Christmas films.

Next weekend, on Sunday, December 23rd, there will be another full day of festive movies.

At 12pm, Tim Burton's spooky Christmas film, A Nightmare Before Christmas will start.

It is followed by Elf at 4pm. This sees Buddy the Elf travel to New York to reunite with his dad, after growing up in the North Pole.

At 7pm, Richard Curtis film, Love Actually will be on. This has an all-star British cast including, Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Billy Nighy and the late Alan Rickman.

The events will be hosted by Dawson's Arthouse Cinema.
