The speeding checks took place on Moor Road in Far Headingley on Tuesday, April 13.
Within 45 minutes, officers caught 23 cars driving over the 20mph speed limit.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police - Leeds North West team said: "During the Zoom PACT meeting on 13/04 residents raised concerns about speeding on Moor Road, Far Headingley.

"Officers attended with the speed gun, and over a 45 minute period 23 vehicles were found to be travelling in excess of the 20mph limit, doing speeds of between 26mph and 31 mph.
"Further speed gun operations will take place on this road in the future.
"Officers then attended Parkstone Avenue, LS16, which was also put forward by local residents.
"No vehicles were found to be doing in excess of the speed limit, however further checks will be done on this road to monitor speeds at varied times."
