To add to that, all the courses are within 30 minutes of each other. From the bucket-list tracks of Muirfield, Gullane No1 and North Berwick, to the lesser known Winterfield, Longniddry and 9 holes at Gifford, there is something for every golfer all year round.

Historic links

The golf courses of Scotland’s Golf Coast are steeped in history. From Willie Park Jr to James Braid and from Old Tom to Tom Doak, the courses have been crafted by the world’s best. Not forgetting Mother Nature’s helping hand, of course.

One specific East Lothian course is celebrating this year, with Musselburgh Old Course commemorating its 350th anniversary. Nine holes here with hickory clubs is an experience not to be missed.

Distilleries and dining

Scotland’s Food and Drink County has an extensive range of restaurants, from fine dining to fish ‘n’ chips, using the best of the local produce.

Whilst for those wanting a dram or a pint, distilleries for both whisky and gin and local beers are plentiful.

Not just golf

It’s not only the proximity and variety of course which makes for such a great golf destination. The towns of Aberlady, Gullane, North Berwick and Dunbar have golf in their DNA and a warm welcome too.

The Bass Rock, Tantallon Castle, Gosford House, Musselburgh racecourse and John Muir Way are just a few more reasons why staying and playing on Scotland’s Golf Coast is an easy decision to make.
