The Leeds Scare Trails return to the Bramhope site this month – with a special “Frightmare Trail”, pitting families against real-life un-dead actors.

The year's event, to be held on October 29 and 30, will feature another free trail – with families invited to follow more than 200 pumpkins, with games and activities between 10am-4pm.

Scare Trails have raised over £30,000 in the last few years and organisers say 100 per cent of the profit goes to local charities and good causes.

A spokesperson for the Scare Trails said: “This year we are going to be bigger and better than ever before, the trail takes around 50 minutes to complete and for the first time we are trialling timed arrival slots for the frightmare trail in order to reduce queueing times.

“The frightmare trail is recommended for brave souls aged 13+ so parental discretion is required but anyone under 13 must be accompanied by an adult."

Proceeds from the trail will go towards MINT – a men’s anti-suicide support group.

Josh Stugeon, the founder of MINT, said: "Our mission is to reduce male suicide by providing a safe place for men to speak without judgement. MINT was founded following a personal tragedy when a close friend Jack Bentley took his own life. We wanted to make sure that no man goes through the same thing, and aimed to create something powerful out of sadness, joining up with The Leeds Scare Trails will really help us to expand and support even more people struggling to cope."MINT provides free weekly support groups for all men to attend and talk about their struggles in a peer-to-peer setting. We want every man to have a place to go when he needs it. We currently have groups in Morley (Leeds) and Wakefield, with the aim to create a group in every city in the UK."

Tickets for the Frightmare trail are £10 for 17+ and £7 for 16 and under.
