Annual Millennium Square Ice Cube skating event in Leeds cancelled due to Covid lockdown

The Ice Cube event which takes place every year in Leeds' Millennium Square will not be going ahead this year due to the Covid national lockdown.

The third national lockdown means that non-essential businesses and leisure facilities including entertainment venues cannot open.

This includes outdoor skating rinks such as Leeds' annual Ice Cube skating event in the city centre.

A spokesperson for Leeds City Council said: “Due to ongoing restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep the city safe, we can confirm this year’s Ice Cube event on Millennium Square will not be going ahead.

"We look forward to welcoming skaters back to the square in future.”
