LOOP karaoke bar hits the high notes at launch party

Killing the tunes at a PG sing off at LOOP karaoke bar.

If Leeds has been lacking just one thing over the past few years, it’s an upfront party bar that belts out sing-along anthems that get the crowd going. Merrion Street’s Loop Bar has been a long time coming, and I couldn’t wait to get my sing on in one of their slick new karaoke booths.

Last week’s launch party was wicked especially once everyone loosened up a little with a cocktail or three. The bar carries an impressive mix of classics and signature pours, ranging from the gin-infused Dancing Queen to the Jack Daniel’s-laced Top of the Pops.

My favourite was Mic Drop, which throws Bacardi and Amaretto into the mix with lime, apple, vanilla and ginger beer. Once things were in full-swing, I grabbed the rest of the Pink Gorilla crew for a sing-off.

I’d like to say the competition was tough, but with my silky, dulcet tones, the guys had no chance. I just nailed it (sort of). We also indulged in Prosecco Pong, a welcome twist on the classic game for anyone that prefers fizz to beer.

Backed by the team behind Roxy Ball Room, Loop also features arcade classics for the gamers out there. A welcome addition to the city adding a massive dose of good old fun to any night out – I’m planning out a playlist for my next visit.
