There is absolutely nothing more frustrating than watching your phone’s bars completely vanish right when you are trying to send an urgent text, load a digital parking ticket, or meet up with friends in town.
While high-speed 5G network rollouts and multi-million-pound infrastructure upgrades continue to expand across West Yorkshire, certain corners of Leeds remain stubbornly trapped in a frustrating mobile reception time-warp.
To map out the city's most notorious digital blackspots, we asked our readers on the Yorkshire Evening Post Facebook page a simple question: Where is the absolute worst place in Leeds to get a phone signal?
Residents were quick to name and shame everything from major matchday bottlenecks to thick-walled historic pubs and baffling city centre dead zones.
Whether you're a commuter struggling on a local train line or a shopper trying to find data in a modern retail park, it seems everyone has a location where their mobile network gives up.

1. Elland Road
Elland Road was by far the most slammed location in the city, with David Needham stating he can "never get a signal or access the internet" when a match is on. Ken Quinn compared the nearby ice rink to a metal "Faraday cage" that completely blocks data, while Cat Breakwell-Milner, Chris Newman, and Joe King all agreed that the ground and its surrounding streets are a total digital write-off whenever Leeds United play. | Local Library

2. Pudsey
Multiple residents called out Pudsey as a major network dead zone, with Roslyn Elliott naming the town "without a doubt" and Nick Greenwood highlighting general connectivity issues across the wider area. Specific trouble spots within the town were flagged by Donna Bee and Andrew James Wilson, who both singled out the top end near Greenside. | Yorkshire Water

3. Leeds General Infirmary & St James's Hospital
Nick B Carter noted that it is a nightmare "anywhere inside the LGI" while Lee Slater pointed specifically to the orthopaedic outpatients department, and Dave Hezlewood and David Fred Thorp flagged major data drops stretching across to "Jimmy's" and the main road outside. | Local Library

4. Historic City Centre Pubs
Matthew Rennison flagged the hidden alleyways of The Angel Inn as a total dead zone for phone data, a frustration shared by Zulu Dalek for patrons visiting The Packhorse on Briggate, and Stephen Kelly who called out the West Riding Pub on Wellington Street for leaving customers with zero bars. | Google
5. The Springs Shopping Centre & Colton
Despite being a modern, premium retail development just off the M1, Russell Jaques noted that the Colton area and the streets surrounding The Springs shopping centre and the Harvester pub seem to be a permanent "O2 blackspot for some reason." This commercial signal failure was fully backed up by Sarah Plant, who named The Springs as her top digital dead zone in Leeds. | Google

6. Albion Street & Albion Place
Bafflingly, the very heart of the city centre shopping district suffers from massive data drops, with Lesley Bell reporting that signal is completely "non-existent" on Albion Place near Bills and Pizza Express. Rob Wilson highlighted Albion Street as a specific issue, while Colin Sinclair pointed out the ultimate irony of losing connection "inside and outside the Three and Vodafone shops." | Google
