Inside the historic Wakefield hall set to go under the hammer for £1.3m

The Grade-II listed mansion dates back to 1635

A historic Wakefield country house which has previously been earmarked for restoration is to go under the hammer with a £1.3m guide price.

Woolley Hall, a Grade II-listed Jacobean mansion dating back to 1635, is being sold by Wakefield Council at an online auction on August 24-25.

The 18-acre site near Woolley includes the 33,000 sq ft main house, former stables, walled garden, tennis court and two gate lodges.

The property was previously put up for sale last year, but the deal fell through in September.

Potential future uses include a hotel, wedding and events venue, spa, residential conversion or mixed-use development, subject to planning and listed building consent.
