The places in Leeds YOU will be watching England’s World Cup games

The Three Lions’ football adventure begins tonight! 🦁

Summer is upon us and World Cup fever is taking over. England are about to kick-off their quest to add a second star to the badge.

If you are seeing fans enjoying themselves over in America and starting to get a bit of FOMO, the second best option is soaking up the atmosphere in a pub or bar. Leeds has plenty of great options when it comes to watching the footy.

Harry Kane and co are due to begin their World Cup campaign tonight (June 17) in Dallas, Texas. The group stage match against Croatia will kick-off at 9pm - in one of the earlier slots in this tournament.

Fortunately, all of the Three Lions games will kick-off at 9pm - at least in the groups - and so you can enjoy a trip to the pub on a work night. If you are umming and ahing about going to watch the match in town, unable to pick where to go, we’ve got you covered.

Before the match tonight (June 17), we asked our readers over on the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Facebook page for their suggestions. Here are the ones that came up:

The Dog House Bar, Morley

127 Queen St, Morley, Leeds LS27 8HE

Reader Julie Dearlove explained: “The Dog House Bar Morley, best sports bar around. Best offers on drinks too!!”

Uyare

Victoria Gate 3rd Floor, Rooftop, George St, Leeds LS2 7AU

Responding to our query, Russ Cowling wrote: “Uyare.leeds will be amazing watching the games on a rooftop terrace!”

The Moot Hall Arms

11 Mill Hill, Leeds LS1 5DQ

Reader Claire Haseltine responded: “The biggest football pub in the city centre, The Moot Hall Arms.”

At home

A popular suggestion from our readers was to actually stay home and watch the game in the comfort of your own sitting room. Matt Rock joked: “At home on the sofa, crying in despair in public is never a good option.”

Cathy Peel added: “At home at my age!” Echoing, another reader wrote: “In bed sleeping., on too late.”
