To begin the cocktail bonanza, this weekend you can get your sweet and sour fix with Wapentake’s melon sour - with the winning name ‘You Absolute Melon’.

Hide AdCo-owner Lily Prescott, 24, says she wants to involve her customers as much as possible in the running of the bar.
She told the YEP: “Ultimately we want to do what customers want so by involving them in cocktail naming they can feel like they’re a part of the bar.
“It’s a way of keeping things fun, and adding something a little bit different while still keeping in with our reputation of being a craft beer bar.”

Hide AdMiss Prescott only took over the co-ownership of Wapentake at the start of November last year, so this is the first time she has had the chance to open the venue due to restrictions.
She said: “It’s been so nice to get to know our customers and opening has been crazy, busy and really fun.
“We’ve had a really good response and every single customer who has visited us outdoors so far has been complementary in saying how nice it is to be back.
“I just can’t wait now for when we can open indoors because our outside area isn’t that big so we’ll be able to welcome more people and get more of our staff back."
