Sukhothai on South Parade reopened last week with a packed-out launch event to show off its transformed interior and new menu.
A more intimate upper floor has been revealed with elegant new décor and colourways, and a brand new menu that expands on the authentic Thai dishes that have made Sukhothai a local favourite.
Founded in 2002 with the opening of its original Chapel Allerton restaurant, Sukhothai was created by Ban Kaewkraikhot, who went on to open the South Parade spot in 2012.
Ban Kaewkraikhot, Executive Chef and Owner of Sukhothai, said: “When we opened Sukhothai in Chapel Allerton in 2002, my dream was to bring real Thai cooking to Yorkshire – the flavours, the ingredients and the feeling of eating in Thailand. That’s something that has always stayed at the heart of what we do. With the brand turning 24 this year, and Sukhothai Leeds City Centre turning 14, it felt like the right time to give the site a refresh and create somewhere even more special for our guests. We’ve made it more intimate, more beautiful, but still very much Sukhothai.
“The new menu includes some of my personal favourites, such as grilled river prawns and fresh oysters, alongside the dishes our customers have loved for many years. Everything is still made with the same care, using authentic ingredients and inspired by the recipes I grew up with. We’re looking forward to welcoming guests into our gorgeous new space!”
