Take a look inside the newly-refurbished boozer

Wakefield’s well-known pub on Bank Street has reopened its doors as The Hop & Cobble, following a substantial refurbishment that places live entertainment at the heart of its offer. Central to the relaunch is The Backroom, a dedicated live music space designed to support emerging musicians, local cover bands and established performers alike.

The updated venue blends the welcoming atmosphere of a traditional pub with modern additions, including four professional English pool tables, three premium darts boards and a varied schedule of entertainment throughout the week. Guests will also find The Pie Hole, serving Yorkshire pies made from locally sourced ingredients.

The Hop & Cobble aims to play a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of Wakefield musicians, collaborating with local colleges to offer opportunities for students and up-and-coming artists to gain stage experience and develop their craft. Alongside grassroots acts, the entertainment calendar will feature touring bands, DJs and comedy nights in The Backroom, supporting a dynamic and diverse roster.
