Leeds Red Hot world buffet in The Light 'officially closed'

The restaurant, based in The Light on The Headrow, served food from around the world, including Italian, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Mexican and European.

A spokeswoman for The Light confirmed the restaurant had "officially closed".

The most recent owners had taken over from Red Hot World Buffet, a former chain of UK restaurants.

In 2019, Leeds City Council investigated after a customer reported seeing cockroach, though no insect activity was found on an inspection.

Later that year, general manager Amit Singh told the YEP the restaurant was serving 1,000 guests on Saturdays.

He said: "Our restaurant is based on the love of food and cooking, merged with an affinity for style to become a place where exciting food, design-led interiors and a warm atmosphere are intertwined.

"Modern in nature, our food draws on global inspirations and seasonal ingredients to create trendy artisan dishes, coupling contemporary style with old school hospitality.

"Here we focus is to give our guests the finest experience and that is what we stand for.

Leeds Red Hot is one of the best multi-cuisine buffets in Leeds, holding seats for over 300 at one time."
