Leeds' Lamb and Flag pub re-opening after country style make over

It is fast becoming one of the city’s favourite pubs and the Lamb and Flag is getting ready for the summer season.

Tomorrow sees the pub on Church Row, which despite being in the shadows of Leeds Minster is a stones-throw from the waterfront, re-open after a bit of a revamp.

Outside has had fairy lights and heaters set up for those not so warmer nights and when the sun does crack so will the barbie as Fridays and Saturdays will be doing all day fire feasts.

On the inside, the pub has been made more cosy with darker wood and low lighting and, to fit in with its history, is hoping for a country pub in the city vibe.

General manager Tom Lancaster said: “We are trying to make it more homely. It is a lovely pub but didn’t feel like that when you walked in and we wanted to make it feel like a country pub.

“We have had a really good year and are just building on that success. There is a lot of competition and we want to be the best pub in Leeds.”

There is a new menu from tomorrow too with burgers and pies but also some fancy fish dishes like Rainbow Trout and pan-fried seabass and summery desserts. Nothing says sunshine like strawberry and pimms Eton Mess.
