Leeds frozen yoghurt hotspot goes to the dark side for Halloween

The Headingley hotspot is adding a dark twist to its menu with a new flavour

A popular Headingley dessert spot is giving its colourful menu a spooky makeover, with a limited-edition blackcurrant frozen yoghurt set to arrive just in time for Halloween.

KefiYo, on Ash Road, will kick off its celebrations on October 28, with spooky decorations, activities and in-store giveaways setting the scene for the frightful festivities.

The party atmosphere will ramp up on October 30 and 31, when DJs take over the café for a Halloween weekend with a difference.

Adding to the seasonal fun, the café will introduce a limited-edition blackcurrant frozen yoghurt, bringing a darker twist to its line-up of flavours.

The new addition will sit alongside existing favourites including Biscoff, passion fruit, apple pie, strawberry and chocolate orange, as well as a vegan coconut option.

There is plenty of room for creativity, too, with customers able to build their own bowls from a wide selection of toppings - all included in the price, with no extra charge for unlimited toppings.

Gagan Chera, co-founder of KefiYo, said: “We’ve had such an incredible response from the Leeds community since opening, and we’re always looking for new ways to make KefiYo even more fun for our customers.

“Halloween is the perfect excuse to get creative, and we’re so excited to introduce some amazing new flavours with a spooky twist.”

The name KefiYo is inspired by the Greek word kefi, meaning joy, passion and zest for life - a fitting sentiment for a spot that puts customisable treats and community at the heart of its offering.

Beyond frozen yoghurt, the Headingley café also serves acai bowls, smoothies, specialty coffees and matcha. It has also built a community-focused offering through events including Pilates pop-ups and run clubs.
