Indian street food venue Mowgli posts update about new Leeds restaurant

The owner of Indian street food brand Mowgli has posted an update about the long-awaited Leeds restaurant.

Mowgli signage has been up in the windows of the building in Boar Lane for some time.

Set up by former barrister Nisha Katona in 2014, Mowgli focuses on small street food items, as well as larger curry dishes.

Choices include Goan fish curry, gunpowder chicken and Himalayan cheese toast, with dedicated gluten-free and vegan menus.

Mowgli Street Food already has restaurants in Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield, among other cities.

And on Monday, Ms Katona posted an update about progress of Mowgli Leeds.

She wrote: "We aim to open towards the end of March on Boar Lane - the build is going well and it will soon be time for trees and swings and twinkle and Tiffin.

"We never have a launch party because I am a old antisocial git but we feed friends and family of our teams and listen to their feedback.

"Then we slink open and hope you like us- keep an eye on social for the date but I will keep posting - we have waited SOO long to find that right site in Leeds - it means the world that we may be able to feed the Leedsfolk come spring.

"Let’s see how the next weeks go and keep your fingers crossed for us Mowglites please - it ain’t over til the Tiffin clatters."
