Exclusive gin tasting event at John Lewis in Leeds today

The world's first cold-brewed tea infused gin will be available to try at John Lewis in Leeds today at an exclusive tasting event.

NOVELTEA - The Tale of Earl Grey - is a tantalising new twist on the classic G&T which swaps tonic for tea to deliver a unique alcoholic infusion.

Created by entrepreneurs, Vincent Efferoth and Lukas Passia, The Tale of Earl Grey was inspired by the British fascination with afternoon tea, with the pair eager to create a tipple that combined the nation's two most popular drinks.

The winning combination of sweet cold-brewed tea and British gin is infused with hand-selected botanicals to produce a smooth and distinctive taste, which is rich in tea flavours and complemented by the enriching aftertaste of gin and juniper.

Since its launch in April 2017, the unusual tipple has proved to be a hit and in less than 12 months the brand has experienced rapid growth, with its selection as John Lewis' gin brand of the month marks another step forward in its ever-growing popularity.

Calling all gin and tea fans

As John Lewis' gin brand of the month, NOVELTEA - The Tale of Earl Grey - will be available to taste in the Leeds store today from 12pm to 4pm, offering tea and gin fans the perfect opportunity to sample the tipple and enjoy a twist on the way one traditionally enjoys G&T.

A tasting event will also be held at John Lewis in York on Saturday 24 March, from 11am to 3pm.

NOVELTEA can be served either hot or cold, and makes the perfect accompaniment for a boozy afternoon tea or as a key cocktail ingredient.

The tasting at John Lewis is a non-ticketed open event for individuals aged 18 and over.

How much does it cost?

The Tale of Early Grey is priced at £9.95 for 25cl and £24.95 for 70cl (11% abv.), and offers a rich taste of Earl Grey tea infused with juniper and British gin.The Tale of Tangier, an exotic infusion of Moroccan green mint with spearmint, dried lemongrass, dried apple, blackberry leaves and Caribbean rum, is also availble to buy at John Lewis stores for the same price.

Both Tales are cold-brewed in the UK and are vegan, gluten free and free from any artificial colours.
