Domo Leeds: Family-run Sardinian restaurant confirms new opening as it teases location

A family-run Sardinian restaurant that’s loved by Yorkshire diners has confirmed it’s opening a new site in Leeds.

Domo, which translates to ‘home’ in the Sardinian dialect, opened its first restaurant in Sheffield in 2019. It’s owned by Sardinian-born Raffaele Busceddu and Sheffield local Sarah Elliott, who have brought a taste of the Italian island to the city’s trendy Little Kelham neighbourhood for the last seven years.

And the team has now announced plans to open a second restaurant in Yorkshire, teasing its location in an Instagram post. Pictures show the newly-developed Temple Works on the banks of the Leeds Liverpool Canal.

The post said: “It’s been a long time coming but Domo 2.0 is finally cooking. Here’s a little sneak peek at our week which we’ve mostly spent admiring the views and getting to know the new neighbours.

“If you can guess where it is there’s a glass of bubbly on us next time we see you.”

Domo was recently named in Condé Nast’s list of best restaurants in Sheffield, and readers of our sister title The Star have even said the restaurant deserves a Michelin Star.

Dishes are made with fresh produce from local independent retailers and specialities direct from Sardinia, including homemade pasta, pizza, calzone and seafood.
