Director of Operations of Salute at the White Swan applauds "amazing" reopening week

Chris Malone told the Yorkshire Evening Post the business had "the most amazing week" after reopening on April 12.

He said the customers at the award winning independent Italian Restaurant had been "fanatstic" and followed social distancing rules.

Speaking to the YEP, Mr Malone echoed the thoughts of bar and pub owners across the city.

He said: "We had the most amazing week.

"The customers were fantastic.

"All my staff where beyond amazing, the kitchen and front of house.

"Everything was exceptional.

"Thank you to everybody who has supported us recently."

The views of Mr Malone corresponded with an air of excitement across the city at the reopening of bars and pubs.

Anja Madhvani - Springwell Leeds:

"Today at Springwell was a delight.

"So many happy customers, lots of jokes, everyone was patience and friendly, and I loved being part of a team again.

"I have missed it very much."

"Lots of people about, bookings and walk ins.

"People following guidelines.

"The team have also been great.

"Weather helping with all having to be outside.

"Headingley looks busy too. Nice to see people back out!"

Oporto:

"Last night, like the whole week, has been such a nice vibe day & night."

Clark Bradley - bartender Union Square Bar and Kitchen:

"I'm a bartender here, it's been pretty smooth so far, more food going out today during the day and everyone seems to understand the table service and covid rules by now which makes things a fair bit easier."

Horsforth Brewery:

"Had a great time yesterday, hopefully our visitors did too. Had a few comments about the ‘beautiful’ smell from the brew going on in the room next to the patio."
