Chophaus at Oakwood, which only opened last year, has used the coronavirus lockdown time to re-design the menus while working out what customer favourites to keep as well.

Starter dishes include tuna tataki with avocado, edamame, lotus root, lemongrass and coconut oil; a Guinness rarebit eclair with wild mushroom, seared beef and truffle, and a vitamin-packed super bowl with quinoa, pickled beets, feta and pomegranate.

For the main courses, some of the new additions are pork ribs with mustard, honey and soy glaze with an apple and orange herb salad; chicken and chestnuts roulade or hearty lamb rump. Seafood is also very well represented on the new menu with whole north sea lobster poised to be future Chophaus classic. This show stopping dish pays homage to Asian cuisine and includes dashi broth, wakame, pickled clams and shiitake mushrooms. Meanwhile, Sea Bream tips its hat to French gastronomy with fondant potatoes, courgette, tomatoes, capers and brown shrimp.
