NoNo Wine Bar review: I tried this relaxed and friendly Leeds bar where you order on an iPad
NoNo Wine Bar is the kind of place that immediately puts you at ease while still feeling polished and considered.
Whether you are meeting friends for a long-overdue catch-up or heading out for an easy-going date night, it delivers on both atmosphere and experience. This was my third attempt to review the bar, having previously found it full on earlier visits, so booking ahead is strongly advised if you want to secure a table.
The room itself is beautifully put together. Lighting is warm without being dim, the music sits comfortably in the background, and the overall noise level feels just right as the space fills. It manages to feel lively without ever becoming overwhelming, making conversation easy and the atmosphere relaxed.

Service throughout the evening was excellent. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful, offering guidance when needed but never hovering. Drinks and olives arrived quickly after ordering, which immediately set a positive tone for the rest of the visit.
A particularly smart touch is the use of iPads at each table for browsing the wine list. Rather than being faced with an intimidating wall of options, guests can select wines based on body and flavour preferences, making the whole process approachable and even a little fun. Wines are available in 125ml or 175ml pours, as well as by the bottle. Wine flights are also available for those keen to explore more widely.
Pricing is impressively varied, meaning there is something to suit most budgets, from casual glasses to more premium bottles. While the beer and spirits selection is slightly narrower, there are still enough options to ensure everyone feels catered for. Specials were available on the night, and a glance at upcoming events suggests plenty is happening here beyond regular service.
The small plates menu looked very tempting. We chose the bao breadsticks, which were ideal for sharing and complemented the drinks nicely. Another thoughtful detail was the way different wines appeared to be served at different temperatures, clearly chosen to present each bottle at its best.

We enjoyed two white wines, a Uruguayan Albariño and a Grauburgunder, both served as 175ml glasses. Alongside the olives and bao breadsticks, the bill came to £29, which feels fair for the quality and well in line with city prices.
NoNo feels confident in what it offers and is a fantastic new addition to Leeds.
