The new opening on Duncan Street is the latest venture from partners Sara Tola and Rruzhdi Molla, who have been serving up Greek delicacies for the past four years at their hugely successful first location in Halifax.

Now, they’re bringing the same winning formula to Leeds, offering customers a true taste of Greece with a menu of classic dishes, freshly prepared by a team of experienced Greek chefs.

“We had been wanting to open a restaurant in Leeds for five years, but were waiting for the perfect venue,” explained Sara. “We’re so excited to finally bring Apollonis to the city. English people are already very familiar with Greek food, and it’s incredibly popular.

“When people come here and try our dishes, they always tell us that it takes them back to their Greek holidays – and they always return to try it again.”

Apollonis prides itself on authenticity, with almost all of its ingredients – from pitta breads to drinks – imported directly from Greece. The only exception is fresh vegetables, which are sourced locally. The team’s dedication to using traditional ingredients ensures that every dish delivers an authentic taste experience.

The menu features a range of Greek favourites, from mouth-watering gyros to sizzling souvlaki, all prepared in the traditional way. Customers can enjoy a chicken gyros filled with juicy, marinated chicken, tzatziki, red onion, tomatoes and chips for just £8.50.

And for those looking for a feast, the meat mezze for two is a must-try, featuring a generous selection of pork and chicken gyros, souvlaki, lamb kofta, loukaniko, kebab, Greek salad, mix dips, chips and pitta bread for £39.99.

Vegetarian diners aren’t left out either, with small plates such as feta cheese, dolmades (stuffed vine leaves) and Kefalotiri saganaki (fried Greek cheese) available from just £5.50.

Yet despite the premium ingredients and traditional cooking methods, Apollonis remains incredibly affordable.

“We want to make sure everyone can enjoy real Greek food without it costing a fortune,” said Sara.

The restaurant’s commitment to high standards is reflected in its glowing reviews. Apollonis has already built a strong reputation for quality and service, with customers describing excellent meals and returning time and again for their favourite dishes. It currently boasts five stars on Google, based on 55 reviews.

The restaurant offers dine-in options as well as takeaway and delivery services through Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Customers can also order directly from the Apollonis website or call the restaurant to place a collection order.
