Despite the pandemic, a raft of restaurants, bars and cafes have opened to glowing reviews - expanding the city's offering. Here, we've rounded up 10 of the best new additions to Leeds in 2021.
7. Kuala Lumpur Restaurant and Bar
The much-loved cafe in Headingley has expanded into Horsforth, with a new restaurant and bar on Town Street. It served authentic Malaysian food with a menu designed by award-winning chef and TV host Norman Musa - specialising in Nasi Lemak and Malaysian curries.
8. The Collective
This new interiors shop and cafe concept has opened in Leeds city centre, blurring the lines between home and hospitality. Almost everything is for sale, from the table you’re eating at, the sofa you’re sitting on and even the coffee cup you’re drinking from.
9. The Funky Indian
The Funky Indian, in Pudsey, opened after Covid restrictions were lifted last April. It offers Punjabi cuisine with a twist and boasts a huge outdoor terrace for the summer months, as well as coffee and cake in the day and two-for-one cocktails by night.
10. Tabula Rasa
This Greek and Latin-style cafe and cocktail bar opened in November, part of a scheme to transform Vicar Lane. It specialises in high-quality spirits, as well as serving cheese and charcuterie sharing boards. Photo: Tabula Rasa
