Yorkshire firm Big Shotter Fireworks have spent several years building up a business in and around Bradford, not just selling fireworks, but designing firework displays and commissioning the manufacture of specialist fireworks.

Their ‘fireworks in a box’ are the ideal way to ensure the perfect firework display to put the finishing touches to any event – and they deliver a reliable and perfectly timed display every time.

Javed Iqbal, from Big Shotter Fireworks, explained: “These are firework compound cakes – basically a firework displays in a box.”

Instead of several individual fireworks which each need to be positioned and lit at carefully timed intervals, need several technicians and often leave gaps between displays, these firework cakes are a mixture of many different fireworks, wired together that are lit once and provide a whole display lasting several minutes.

“You only need one technician and, if we use a number of them, with rockets in between we can get a spectacular nine to 10 minute show,” he said.

Wedding photographers find them ideal, he said, as they know there are no gaps in the show, they can time their shots and they can work with Big Shotter to ensure they get perfect lasting memories for the happy couple and their guests. The guests are enchanted and the happy couple are even happier, he said.

Indoor displays – sparkle without the spark

Big Shotter’s latest acquisitions are some cold spark machines. These are electric machines, which can be remote controlled, and use titanium granules to produce indoor ‘firework’ displays.

Javed explained: “They look like a fountain firework – but you could put your hand in it, and it’s not even warm.”

He said there were still, albeit minimal, risks with traditional indoor fireworks, as there is still an actual spark. But with the cold spark machines there is no risk at all and they can be used in most indoor settings, even those with low ceilings.
