New café Scrumdiddlyumptious opens in the heart of Pudsey

Scrumdiddlyumptious, on Market Place, re-opened its doors today after the former coffee shop was taken over by new owners.

Best friends Adele Fudge, 45, and Lesley Amoura, 58, have set up the venture after leaving their profession as carers.

They met 27 years ago through work and have always dreamt of running their own business together.

Their new café will sell hot and cold bites, speciality teas and coffees, delicious cakes and pastries - which they say is all served up with a smile.

Adele, from Morley, said: "It's something we've always wanted to do, Lesley took retirement and then had itchy feet.

"It's been fantastic since we opened today, it's like a little hub in Pudsey.

"A lot of older people come in, people who are by themselves and may be lonely.

"It's lovely as they come here to get out and have a chat."

Scrumdiddlyumptious is open Monday to Friday from 9am until 4pm and Saturday from 9am until 2pm.
