But Leeds was eerily quiet on Friday, as these photos taken by Amz Whiteley and shared on Facebook group Leedsplace show. Whereas we'd normally expect the city centre to be teeming with Christmas party goers on the second to last Friday night before Christmas, it was actually deserted. There have been suggestions that Leeds could move into Tier 2 shortly, which could mean the city centre could spark back into life before Christmas - here's hoping!

7. Upper Basinghall Street
There is speculation that Leeds could move to Tier 2 this week.

8. Bond Street
If Leeds does get put into Tier 2, it would mean venues like Head of Steam could open, as long as they were serving substantial meals.

9. Park Row
But if Leeds remains in Tier 3, pubs like Wetherspoons' Beckett's Bank would have to remain closed.
