Nick said: “It’s been so boring for kids this year so I wanted to do something to entertain them.

“All they can do really is go for a walk so I might as well make their walks exciting whilst raising some money for a charity close to the hearts of all my family.”

Three of Nick’s family members have passed away in St Gemma’s Hospice, including his wife’s great grandma.

Nick has funded the lights and put them all on display himself, picking them up on the internet and using second hand lights that other people don’t want anymore.

He added: “I’ve done some lights in the past, more than the average person in Alwoodley, but I definitely want these to be like no other in the area.

“My kids absolutely love it.

“It’s already a talking point and I want it to become more of one with the lights getting bigger and bigger.”

For Halloween, Nick’s display involved a laser going into the sky and a smoke machine which attracted lots of resident’s attention.
