Instead of resigning yourself to eating the same leftovers for the rest of the week, check out these 10 tips to use up your leftovers in other ways you may not have considered.
7. Brussels sprouts superfood smoothie
While brussels sprouts might not be the most popular thing on our plates, they're actually incredibly good for us, so you might want to try and figure out a way to use them up this Christmas. Try whipping yourself up a superfood smoothie by blitzing together brussels sprouts, a banana, kale, water and some lemon juice. Photo: Shutterstock
8. Bubble and squeak
If you’re faced with an abundance of food you don’t know what to do with, you can’t go wrong with incorporating it all into a hearty dish of bubble and squeak. Mash up leftover potatoes, add your leftover vegetables and meat, season nicely and press your mixture into a lightly oiled muffin tin. Bake for around 40 minutes at 180C, or until golden and crispy. 9. Carrot facial mask
There are other ways of using up your leftovers without having to eat them. For example, you can make your very own at home facial mask using carrots. Mash up boiled or steamed carrots, mix with honey, extra virgin olive oil and a few drops of lemon juice and you have yourself a face mask that is perfect for those with normal or oily skin.
