7. Belinda's
Do you remember Belinda's? The nightclub on Lower Briggate enjoyed a loyal following during the 1970s and into the 1980s when it underwent a £75,000 facelift.
Heaven and Hell on Eastgate was one of Leeds’ first nightclubs to embrace the ‘dual dance floor’ concept and, by the late 1970s, had become well-known as a punk and alternative venue.
The Gaiety on Roundhay Road opened officially in December 1972. The Carousel Bar with a dance floor, juke box and a 17 metre circular bar was designed to cater for the younger element.

Bar-Celona on Bridge Road in Kirkstall became a popular haunt in the 1980s. The 18th century Grade II listed building has previously been the Star and Garter pub. Pictured in November 1989.
