It was a Premiership clash dubbed the 'P45 derby'.

Terry Venables, like his counterpart Glenn Roeder, came into Leeds United' s clash against West Ham United at Upton Park in November 2002 under huge pressure. It lifted temporarily for the Whites boss after his charges ended up on the right side of a a seven goal thriller following in a 90 minutes littered with defensive mistakes. "You take the rough with the smooth," reflected Venables who lasted another four months as manager with the Whites finishing the campaign in 15th position just five points above the relegation places.
