It was the season Don Revie's Leeds United only lost three league games on the way to being promoted back to the top flight.

The Whites returned to the First Division after seven years away by clinching the Second Division title in 1963/1964 by two points from Sunderland. Leeds scored 71 league goals on the way to the title with Elland Road proving to be a fortress with the Whites unbeaten in all competitions throughout the season.
