The words of Joe Royle after his Manchester City side were swept aside in the fourth round of the FA Cup at Maine Road in January 2000 thanks to a five star performance from Leeds United. It was a game which saw supporters treated to one of the most frantic starts of recent seasons. Four goals were shared in the first 20 minutes as City twice shocked their cross-Pennine rivals with surprise strikes. But the Whites showed their quality by hitting back swiftly on both occasions before taking complete control of the contest with a stylish, confident performance.
