Olympic javelin thrower Mick Hill visited Carr Manor Primary where he presented the school's U-11s athletic team with the Leeds Primary Schools Indoor Athletics championship trophy and awards.

Up to 30 Burley residents caused hold-ups on Kirkstall Road as they crossed and re-crossed the road opposite the Netto store by the junction with Redcote Lane. This action was to draw attention to the problems of excessive traffic in the area which they claimed would increase if the planned new Morrisons store development went ahead.
