Stank Hall on Dewsbury Road in 1983. This farmhouse dates back to at least 1609 when it was purchased by Christopher Hodgson, though it is part of a farm that is much older, with a barn built possibly as far back as 1448 (from tree-ring dating). Some elements of an earlier timber-framed building which may date from the same time still survive in the brick walls of the Hall. Now a listed building, it was still in use as a farmhouse until the 1960s.
