Bremner’s Leeds United were almost touched by magic towards the end the 1986-87 season but defeat in the FA Cup semi-finals and a shattering play-off final ruined a romantic tale. Neither loss was anything less than defeat pulled from the jaws of victory. Enjoy these rarely-seen photos, plucked from the YEP archive and others published courtesy of Varley Picture Agency, of memories from the Cup run and the race for promotion.
