Architect John Thorpe was photographed at the side of a model of Millennium Square, heralded as the city’s flagship project to mark the year 2000. The budget for the project was £12 million and was to be jointly funded by Leeds City Council and the Millennium Commission. Elsewhere the latest part of the Leeds Tapestry was revealed and the Leeds Millennium fountain was switched on at Eastgate. This was Leeds in January 2000 - is it a city you remember?
