Jonathan Woodgate had already helped Leeds to win the FA Youth Cup in 1997 before he made his first team debut in October the following year. He would prove a consistent and impressive performer for the Whites during a time when the club competed in the UEFA Cup, Champions League and regularly finished towards the top of the Premier League.
