These images were taken during a time of enormous social and economic change for the suburb as well as Leeds and beyond. This was a community living in a decade which featured the first car registration in Leeds, the opening of City Square, Leeds University established as well as Emily Pankhurst addressing a mass meeting of suffragettes on Woodhouse Moor.
