Boots for the Bairns campaign helped provide much needed boots and warm socks for youngsters children across the city during the 1920s and 1930s. Over a period of six months from November 1921, more than over 12,000 pairs of boots and warm socks had been donated. These photos showcase the fundraising efforts of the campaign over the years. They are published courtesy of photographic archive Leodis, which is run by Leeds Library & Information Service. They also run heritage blog The Secret Library Leeds, which provides a behind the scenes look at the Central Library and highlights from its special collections, including rare books hidden away in the stacks.
